Hello Tokyo madness!

I truly doubt that the contrasts between temples in Bagan and skyscrapers in Tokyo could have been any bigger. After a LONG trip from Burma to Tokyo, we threw our bags into our airbnb room, and got our sneakers ready for some real sightseeing. It felt awesome, being in a big city again!

As a coincidence, we were there during the week of the cherry blossom festival. A beautiful sight, but the funniest experience was seeing the Japanese going absolutely mental about the “sakura” (cherry blossom). All hotels in Tokyo were fully booked and everyone was out with their huge canons capturing the colours of the spring.  In the afternoon, people gathered in the city´s parks and got wasted celebrating the new season.

Apart from looking at flowers, our days were spent exploring the different neighbourhoods of Tokyo. I got lost in the numerous vintage shops in Harajuku and Shimo-Kitazawa - my two favourite parts of the metropolis. And although we´ll probably have to live on bread and water for the rest of our trip, exceeding our budget by tasting all kinds of delicious Japanese food was totally worth it!

Tokyo, you are so crazy, I love you!
