Flying high in Peru!

When my partner in crime turns a year older, the only reasonable thing to do is to make him run out from a cliff attached to a paraglide. With a great number of butterflies in our stomachs, the pilot drove us an hour outside Cusco - to “the Sacred Valley of the Incas”. The highest any of us has been in the air prior to this would have to be on the five-meter diving platform in the local swimming hall.
In other words, nothing compared to this.

After a rather scary start with a crash after take off, and an unpleasant meeting with a bush, we both got to fly 20 - 30 minutes. The pilot caught some thermal winds, and on my flight we followed the wind up to about 4900 masl (about 1400 meters above the ground). Trust me, my heart has never been closer to my throat.

The view was amazing, and my gopro also got some wind under its wings. But I must admit, I´m way more comfortable 50 meters below water than 5000 meters above sea level!

Crash take-off into a bush - auch!

Getting ready for another try

Finally flying

Happy to have my legs on solid ground!
